Qatar Awareness Campaign – ExxonMobil

Rex W. Tillerson qatar_awareness_campaign_logo

Corporate Headquarters
5959 Las Colinas Boulevard
Irving, Texas 75039-2298

Dear Mr. Tillerson:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar. Of all the American companies currently involved with Qatar, none is more responsible for Qatar’s economic success than ExxonMobil. Indeed, Qatar has the world’s highest per capita GDP, at $102,100 (2013).

The United States has two massive military bases in Qatar: Al Udeid, the home of CENTCOM for the region, and As Sayliyah, the largest pre-positioning base outside the continental United States. One primary reason that these bases exist in Qatar is because they are subsidized (or, as the Washington Post put it, owned) by the Qatari government. These Qatar-owned bases are what protect Qatar from their neighbors, many whom have been thrown into Qatari-induced chaos following the Muslim Brotherhood’s Arab Spring. More

Qatar Awareness Campaign – Raytheon

Raytheon Company
870 Winter Street
Waltham, MA 02451-1449

Dear Dr. Kennedy:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar. Raytheon, a major American military contractor and leading manufacturer of guided missiles, is set to be a substantial provider of sophisticated weapons systems to the terrorist-sponsor State of Qatar for many years; and has just reaffirmed their commitment to supply Qatar with surface-to-air missiles.

Qatar, however, is no mere sponsor of random terror. Not only was Doha home to 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Indeed, Qatar is the principal country that supported the so-called “Arab Spring” uprisings, which saw the demise of Mubarak, Gaddafi, and nearly – possibly still – Bashar al-Assad. The relevant point to consider regarding these revolutions is, cui bono? More

Qatar Awareness Campaign – Lockheed Martin

Bethesda, MD 20817-1877

Dear Ms. Hewson:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar. Lockheed Martin, a major American military contractor, has been one of the largest suppliers of sophisticated weapons systems to the terrorist-sponsor State of Qatar for several years.

For the better part of 2014, one of Qatar’s creations – the genocidal Islamic State (aka ISIS/ISIL) – has been on the warpath in Syria and Iraq. The media reports are gruesome and horrifying: beheaded children, entire villages massacred, ancient Christian and Yazidi communities exterminated, and surrendered soldiers murdered in ways reminiscent of the Nazi Einsatzgruppen. This is a genocide, and it is going on right now! More

Qatar Awareness Campaign – The Boeing Company

Dear Mr. McNerney:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar. Why? According to a senior Boeing executive last October, “The relationship [between Qatar and Boeing] is very strong; it’s kind of like a marriage.

Yet Qatar is perhaps the preeminent sponsor of terrorism in the world today, and a sponsor of the ISIS genocide!

Few companies in the country hold the same esteem in the public eye as The Boeing Company. A manufacturer of commercial airplanes, and an indispensable military contractor, Boeing has helped build modern America. It simply boggles the mind that Boeing has contracts with terrorist-friendly Qatar for state-of-the-art commercial and military systems that total tens of billions of dollars. More

Qatar Awareness Campaign – Tucson Unified School District, et al.

1010 E. Tenth St.
Tucson, AZ 85719

Dear Ms. Grijalva:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar. The Tucson Unified School District has accepted grant money from the Qatar Foundation to fund an Arabic language program. Qatar is a state-sponsor of terrorism, including Hamas, who routinely use civilians, including children, as human shields.

Qatar is the host country of the Muslim Brotherhood, a stateless political organization which came to maturity at the same time as the Nazi Party in Germany. Indeed, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Third Reich shared many of the same aims in World War II, including the extermination of Jews. Their collaboration is well-documented. More

Dear Mr. Strobe Talbott:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition.  The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar, the country who is the single biggest foreign donor to the Brookings Institution.  The New York Times penned an article in September that outlines the influence of foreign governments through the stealth funding of think tanks in the United States. The Brookings Institution was singled out as one entity receiving such funding.

Since 2008, Brookings Doha Center has operated in Qatar. The Brookings Doha Center International Advisory Council is co-chaired by H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani, former prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of the State of Qatar and yourself.  The Center maintains a reputation for policy impact and cutting-edge, field-oriented research on socioeconomic and geopolitical issues facing the broader Middle East, including relations with the United States. Brookings has ties directly to the White House, has connections within our military and influences a wide range of power brokers within the United States. More

An institution with global influence of the first order, Harvard scholars help to shape policy on the domestic and international stage. More

Qatar Awareness Campaign – Cornell University

Elizabeth Garrett
Office of the President qatar_awareness_campaign_logo

Cornell University
Ithaca, NY 14853

Dear Ms. Garrett:

Congratulations on your recent appointment to President of Cornell University! We hope you take this opportunity to examine Weill Cornell Medical College’s extensive relationship with a state sponsor of terrorism.

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar, the country whose capital hosts a campus of Weill Cornell Medical College. Since 2001, the Qatar Foundation has borne all campus development costs associated with Cornell’s campus in Doha’s Education City.

Cornell University, an Ivy League institution, is one of the most respected institutions of higher learning in the nation, and indeed the world. Weill Cornell Medical College, which became affiliated with Cornell in 1998, is one of the most prestigious and selective medical schools.

Following the Hamas attack on Israel this summer, Cornell’s presence in Doha, Qatar came under scrutiny by Jewish organizations. Qatar is an open supporter of the Gaza-based terrorist group, which fired thousands of rockets into Israel in July and August, killing and wounding dozens of innocent Israelis. Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center called Cornell’s presence in Qatar “outrageous,” while the Zionist Organization of America called on Cornell and other American universities to “end or suspend their programs in Qatar.”

In light of these events, we urge to you read the information below, which includes evidence that Qatar is arguably the preeminent sponsor of terror in the world today. It is a benefactor of the genocidal armies of ISIS, al Qaeda, and Boko Haram; it is involved in Taliban narcotics trafficking through a relationship with the Pakistani National Logistics Cell; and profits from operating a virtual slave state. Qatar has leveraged its relationships with violent jihadi groups to its own benefit, and to the detriment of the United States and her allies.

So the public understands why this letter is addressed to you, Cornell’s past and current activities suggest a growing partnership between Cornell and the terror-friendly Gulf state:

  • In 2001, the Qatar Foundation funded an initiative in Doha, the Education City. It welcomed six American universities, Weill Cornell, among them (in 2001), to build campuses in the complex. The Qatar Foundation, which has noted links to terrorism, pays all associated campus development costs.
  • In 2004, Bill Clinton and Al Gore both visited Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. In 2013, Qatar donated between $1-$5 mil to the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation; also in 2013, Al Gore sold CurrentTV to (Doha-based) Al Jazeera, profiting personally a reported $100 million.
  • Despite recent criticism, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar announced in September their intentions to expand their presence, partnering with the Qatari medical company Aspetar for clinical trials and education.
  • Sheikh Mohammed Hamad Jassim Al-Thani, MBBChB, the Director of Public Health for the Supreme Council of Health in Doha, Qatar, is on the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College in New York (since 2011).

The QAC Coalition and petitioners ask that you consider the attached sourced report on Qatar’s activities. The links cited are vetted and credible sources. We hope you take the time to verify the truth of the statements for yourself.

After doing so, the Coalition of the Qatar Awareness Campaign calls on you to exert due influence on the Qatari government to cease any type of involvement in all forms of Islamic terrorism, slavery, and drug trafficking!

Dear Dr. Hussey:

This letter is being sent to you on behalf of the Qatar Awareness Campaign Coalition. The purpose is to inform you and the public of the activities of Qatar, the country whose capital hosts a campus of Texas A&M University. Since 2003, when Robert Gates (later Secretary of Defense) was president of the university, the Qatar Foundation has borne all campus development costs associated with the campus. (Also see here.)

Texas A&M University at Qatar plays an important part in the Qatari economy, educating students in disciplines including: chemical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, and petroleum engineering. Qatar possessing the world’s third largest natural gas reserves, and significant reserves of oil, engineering is particularly important to their economy. More
